Ally and Your Career

Ally Financial only succeeds when its people do - and that’s more than some cliché people put on job postings. We live this stuff! We see our people as, well, people - with interests, families, friends, dreams, and causes that are all important to them. Our focus is on the health and safety of our teammates as well as work-life balance and diversity and inclusion. From generous benefits to a variety of employee resource groups, we strive to build paths that encourage employees to stretch themselves professionally. We want to help you grow, develop, and learn new things. You’re constantly evolving, so shouldn’t your opportunities be, too?

Work Schedule: Ally designates roles as (1) fully on-site, (2) hybrid, or (3) fully remote. Hybrid roles are generally expected to be in the office a certain number of days per week as indicated by your manager. Your hiring manager will discuss this role's specific work requirements with you during the hiring process. All work requirements are subject to change at any time based on leader discretion and/or business need.

The Opportunity

Join our dynamic Ally Insurance Business Line Risk team as an Analyst II and play a pivotal role in shaping our governance framework. Utilize your exceptional organizational skills, meticulous attention to detail, and proactive attitude to drive the advancement of our governance and risk programs. Your key responsibilities will include coordinating board and committee meetings, managing updates and reviews of business line and enterprise policies, and providing oversight of policy compliance. Additionally, you will lead special projects aimed at enhancing processes, controls, and overall business governance. This is your chance to make a meaningful impact, contribute to our team's success, and advance your career in a collaborative and innovative environment.

The Work Itself

  • Board and Committee Meeting Coordinator: Develop comprehensive agendas for meetings and prepare and distribute detailed materials in advance. Help to facilitate action-oriented discussions among governing bodies, ensuring meetings lead to effective decision-making and risk mitigation plans. Post-meeting, track and document minutes, action items, and decisions, ensuring timely follow-up and implementation.
  • Governance Document Updates and Reviews: Lead in facilitating updates to business line policies, charters, and procedures, and review enterprise policies for their impact on the Insurance business. Develop and manage a cutting-edge Knowledge Management Library, an online resource housing desktop procedures, policy and procedure templates, and process maps for BL Risk department activities. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will ensure robust governance and operational integrity. Your efforts will directly contribute to making our governance program even better.
  • Policy Compliance: Oversee and help ensure compliance with business policies, managing BL Risk-owned policies with precision. You'll engage with diverse business partners to support adherence, identify gaps, and support corrective actions. Your efforts will be key to maintaining our high standards of operational excellence and regulatory compliance, driving the integrity and success of our business.

The Skills You Bring
