The Opportunity

Are you intellectually curious? Do you have a passion for organizational change? Ally’s finance organization is looking for a talented Analyst to support the successful execution of the CFO Group’s Finance Transformation program. The ideal candidate will have exceptional project management and communication skills, prior finance experience, strong partnership skills, and an ability to juggle competing priorities in a dynamic environment.

The Work Itself

  • Collaborate with Finance and technology stakeholders as well as other cross-functional business partners to support Finance Transformation program initiatives and enable and scale critical capabilities across the CFO Group
  • Support the CFO Group finance transformation agenda through effective governance, specifically the monitoring, recording and appropriate escalation of risks and issues as well as ongoing maintenance and enhancement of governance routines
  • Assist in the continued development and execution of a program change management strategy, including creating, editing and distributing communications to drive engagement across the CFO group
  • Review updates and deliverables produced by workstream execution teams, to provide constructive feedback and effective challenge
  • Assist with the ongoing maintenance of the finance transformation strategic roadmap, monitoring the progress of individual initiatives as well as dependencies between initiatives to ensure effective program execution
  • Develop an understanding of Ally’s finance technology and data landscapes and collaborate with program stakeholders to define objectives and business value while ensuring that initiatives deliver on business objectives
  • Support the development of detailed business cases, including business benefits and realization plans, target operating model and architecture designs, etc., and monitor progress from design through post-implementation
  • Produce reporting on KPIs and metrics measuring program health, total value delivered and overall success of the individual initiatives and program more broadly

The Skills You Bring

  •  1+ years of experience with key finance, accounting and treasury processes (e.g., financial close and consolidation; financial planning and forecasting; financial, management and regulatory reporting; treasury operations and cash management; asset and liability management)
  •   Meticulous attention to detail for project status reporting, issue/resolution tracking, and risk management
  •   Flexible problem-solving skills, with a breadth of perspective and ability to “connect the dots” even in areas outside one’s primary subject matter expertise
  •   Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to help develop executive-level presentations and explain complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  •   Familiarity with Agile frameworks and methodologies preferred
  •   Prior banking industry experience preferred
  •   Bachelor's degree
  •   Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment, making trade-off decisions where necessary to best benefit the organization
