The Opportunity

The Business Rules Governance Specialist is considered a process and documentation expert that will be primarily focused on governance and documentation to support Ally's strategy and rules implementation process for systemic decisioning for the indirect auto lending business. This role will require organizational and process management expertise and be responsible for establishing best practices for documentation, controls, testing and governance routines. This individual will work closely with a broad group of matrix partners, including business operations, IT, Risk, Finance/Pricing, Analytical Modeling, and Product Management, etc. to support and coordinate the implementation of business requirements systemically.

 

The Work Itself

·       Develop and manage detailed rule and configuration documentation, controls, testing and governance

·       Measure, monitor and report the level of completeness throughout rule implementation and system behavior modification processes

·       Define and execute communication cadence to keep all stakeholders fully informed. Must be prepared to be the conduit between multiple groups to ensure open, honest, and equally understood communication

·       Manage change request and standard release processes including: work with Product Owners to organize and prioritize release items, maintain change control process/logs, ensure audit packages are properly completed and archived, pre and post deployment status tracking/communication

·       Collaborate and partner with Product Owners and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely delivery of logic and system behavior modifications

·       Assist in the development of rule writing and implementation standards documentation as well as the controls to ensure adherence to all Ally guidelines, policies and procedures

·       Proactively identify and manage risks/issues. Ensure proper visibility and communication occur to partners and senior management

·       Create and maintain process and system documentation including procedures and process flows; create and maintain library of governance artifacts and other supporting documentation

The Skills You Bring

·       Completion of a Bachelor's degree in business related field or equivalent work experience

·       Robust Microsoft Office Suite knowledge and expertise (i.e. Visio, PowerPoint, Word, Excel)

·       Thrives in a dynamic business environment with sometimes large amounts of ambiguity and fluctuating priorities

·       Self-motivated individual that is resourceful and creative in solving problems

·       Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Experience writing and/or editing SQL queries a strong plus

·       PMP or related Project Management certification a plus

·       Knowledge of general financial concepts -- P&L calculations, amortization schedules, basic understanding of interest rates, financial metrics, pro-forma models, etc a plus
