The Opportunity

Key activities for the role include but are not limited to: Act as the operational data steward for customer profile data. Perform maintenance tasks on the data in the Ally Customer Master database and work with line of business subject matter experts to address complex data conflicts.

  • The Position requires one to be willing to tackle difficult issues and resolve conflict across lines of business.
  • Provide analytical and data support for monitoring business objectives and KPI's
  • Maintaining documentation of key processes and controls

The Work Itself

The Data Management Analyst's responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:


  • Perform maintenance functions on data to ensure adherence to standards and policies for maintaining data as defined by the Enterprise Data Governance Office and data stewards across the organization.
  • Facilitate sessions and collaborate with business subject matter experts to address complex data issues to design solutions.
  • Raise data integrity concerns and risks with leadership as identified and assist in solving them where possible.
  • Work with Enterprise Data Analytics (EDA) team, as needed, in developing processes and policies to process data inconsistencies or conflicts to support the business rules established for customer profile data.
  • Perform ad hoc analysis as needed, to support research needs from business and technology constituents.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of procedure documentation & performance.
  • Escalate and solve urgent situations where quality of customer service is at risk.

The Skills You Bring

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • 1+ years of experience in analysis or process improvement
  • Data analytics experience a plus
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills working in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrate collaborative work with cross-functional teams in IT and Operations
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to collaborate effectively and work as part of a team
  • Self-starter comfortable with limited oversight
  • Financial Services industry experience, a plus
  • Experience with Master Data Management platforms, a plus
  • SQL, Excel, and Power BI experience, a plus
