As an Engineering Manager with Ally, you will lead a team built on collaboration, continual improvement, and thinking beyond the day-to-day activities to ensure big-picture objectives are achieved.  Your expertise in Agile practices and ability to guide the team in the integration of multiple platforms, operating systems, and applications across the enterprise will drive the success of Ally’s technology solutions.


The Work Itself

  • Develop features and improvements to Ally’s front-end financial solutions in a secure, well-tested and performant way

  • Lead a team of Front-End engineers, helping them juggle multiple priorities and manage their time on both short and long-term goals

  • Partner with business, UX design, and back-end API teams to create world-class customer experience for Ally’s online channels

  • Execute and expand upon Ally’s Agile practices through thought-leadership and integrating industry best practices

  • Recommend techniques and methodologies needed to enhance productivity and quality

  • Perform root cause analysis and help troubleshoot complex technical issues

  • Support the long-term career development of their direct reports; helping them build their skills in front-end engineering

The Skills You Bring

  • Enthusiasm for staying up-to-date on tech industry developments and engaging the Ally community on new advancements 

  • Possesses robust analytical thinking skills to debug, identify, and resolve issues.  We mostly work in JavaScript and libraries, such as React, Angular, etc.

  • Desire to work within a diverse group of people and passion for challenging the status quo

  • Experience with rapid, iterative development cycles and continuous integration and continuous deployment technologies

  • 5+ years of experience as a technical manager of an agile team in building and scaling secure, dynamic, interactive websites using Angular5+, Node, ES6/TypeScript
