The Work Itself
- Record compensation and incentive journal entries and perform month-end closing tasks.
- Perform monthly general ledger account reconciliations (GL balances to underlying support). Ensure that completion of reconciliations occurs within defined timeframes.
- Assist in the preparation of the monthly and quarterly financial reporting to SEC, Tax and Regulatory Reporting related to compensation accounting.
- Assist with data mining and analysis related to compensation and benefit programs.
- Coordinate with a number of groups across the enterprise in gathering all the necessary materials.
- Contribute to ad hoc analytical projects as necessary both within and beyond your primary area of focus.
- Assist with audit compliance within the areas for which you are responsible.
- Assist with building an environment of continuous improvement within this area to support business needs.
- Support qualitative improvements in control operations to reduce /eliminate control deficiencies.
- Participate in closing the review comments within this area to support necessary changes to the financial statements
The Skills You Bring
- 1+ year of relevant experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field(s) of study or equivalent.
- Highly preferred: General technical accounting and/or functional skills for area of expertise.
- Highly preferred: Strong attention to detail in documentation, data entry, and quality checks.
- Highly preferred: Experience with HR-related accounting functions (such as general ledger, compensation, benefits, or related), a plus.
- Exhibit a strong work ethic and high degree of self-motivation.
- Must possess good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite, including advanced MS Excel skills (pivot tables, v-lookups, etc.).
- Ability to organize data, perform independent analysis, and provide explanations/conclusions to management.
- Ability to work with limited supervision while applying previous experience to execute moderately complex tasks.
- Ability to contribute meaningfully to projects.
- Comfortable interacting with other personnel in group or support staff from other departments; may interact with other internal and external personnel (i.e., external auditors, regulators) on specific projects or routine matters, usually under supervision.
