Work Schedule: Ally designates roles as (1) fully on-site, (2) hybrid, or (3) fully remote. Hybrid roles are generally expected to be in the office a certain number of days per week as indicated by your manager. The Opportunity

The Accountant II within Ally’s Debt Accounting & Securitization Operations (DASO) organization plays a critical role in providing accurate, timely, and relevant financial information, advice, and transaction support to key stakeholders of the company's largest operating unit. The position will be responsible for accounting-related activities in support of Ally's DASO operations, specifically for the securitization team, and will lead in developing and executing accounting processes for its strategic growth initiatives. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a talented team focused on working efficiently to promote work/life balance is strongly preferred. This position reports to the DASO Accounting Manager.

The Work Itself

  • Engage in securitization investor report creation, review, and distribution, ensuring servicing activity results are accurate and timely.
  • Coordinate monthly activities and address securitization servicing questions with internal customers, trustees/administrators, and securitization investors.
  • Responsible for legal entity accounting, review, and analysis.
  • Assist with the accounting close process (e.g. prepare journal entries, financial statement account analysis, etc.)
  • Assist with ensuring the completeness and accuracy of account reconciliations and general ledger accounts.
  • Assist in analytical accounting support to the internal business partners.
  • Assist in the resolution of accounting problems thru the appropriate channels.
  • Manage and improve the processes around the assigned activities.
  • Drive audit compliance within the areas for which you are responsible.
  • Assist with ERP/software transformation initiatives.
  • Contribute to ad hoc analytical projects as necessary both within and beyond your primary area of focus.

The Skills You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree required (Accounting major preferred) CPA (or equivalent) and /or MBA preferred.
  • 1+ years previous work experience in Accounting or related field; Workday ERP experience preferred.
  • General accounting and/or functional skills for area of expertise.
  • Exhibit a strong work ethic and high degree of self-motivation.
  • Must possess good communication skills.
  • Ability to organize data, perform independent analysis, and provide explanations/conclusions to management.
  • Ability to work with limited supervision while applying previous experience to execute moderately complex tasks.
  • Ability to contribute meaningfully to projects.
  • Comfortable interacting with other personnel in group or support staff from other departments; may interact with other internal and external personnel (i.e., external auditors, regulators) on specific projects or routine matters, usually under supervision.
  • Advanced MS Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups, etc.) preferred.

Base Pay Range: $55000 - $95000 USD
An individual's position in the range is determined by the specific role, the scope and responsibilities of the role, work experience, education, certification(s), training, and additional qualifications. We review internal pay, the competitive market, and business environment prior to extending an offer. 
Incentive Compensation: This position is eligible to participate in our annual incentive plan.
