The Opportunity
The Work Itself
- Accounting oversight and financial reporting support for Ally’s deposit portfolio of over $135 billion; consisting of both retail and brokered products.
- Conduct daily and monthly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance of deposit portfolio; ensuring reconciliations are properly supported and in compliance with Ally global policy.
- Research transactions to determine appropriate course of action for remediation, working closely with Deposit Operations teams to drive necessary accounting and provide explanation of the underlining process
- Develop and process general ledger journal entries, in compliance with Ally policy
- Assist with the accounting close process (e.g. prepare journal entries, financial statement account analysis, etc.)
- Other ad hoc reporting, special project and research as deemed necessary
The Skills You Bring
- BS degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Accounting or Finance preferred)
- Preferred 1+ years previous work experience in Accounting or related field
- Regulatory Reporting experience a plus
- Excel Proficiency - Advanced MS Excel skills including pivot tables & v-lookups
- Strong organizational, problem solving and analytical skills
- Demonstrate the ability to work independently
- Ability to drive change and initiate process improvements
- Communicates effectively; both written and verbal across multiple teams
- SAP experience a plus
- Banking experience a plus
