The Opportunity
Ally is currently looking to add an Account Manager to its team in downtown Detroit. This is an excellent opportunity to use your experience to manage insurance accounts and grow your career. The P&C Account Manager provides superior customer service for policy change, proof of insurance, and billing support to our auto dealer customers and supports the sales staff in completing applications and gathering supporting documents for submissions. Responsible for being the primary contact for customers, providing timely and accurate responses to all internal and external partners.
The Work Itself
- Participates in training new hires as outlined by Team Lead.
- Provide Mentorship to Account Managers, and lead training activities recommended by Team Lead.
- Act as subject matter expert providing input on projects to improve processes or technology.
- Participate in product/leadership focused development opportunities.
- Performs audits on processes including peer reviews of binding documents, certificates of insurance, and procedure documents.
- Takes ownership and responsibility on ad-hoc projects as delegated by Team Lead/Operations Manager.
- Processes and executes Surety Bonds and helping manage the pipeline.
- Distributing and organizing dealer products inbox and inputting AMS entries as needed.
- Responds to inquiries regarding application information, coverage, rating, billing and policy service.
- Responsible for generating certificates of insurance, ID cards, and processing surety bond requests
- May interact with underwriters at non-affiliated insurance companies to secure coverage not underwritten by Ally.
- Responsible to ensure that new and renewal business information is collected in a timely manner and applications are completed accurately; also participates in the quality control function to verify accuracy of proposals and policies.
The Skills You Bring
- One year minimum required experience in P&C, preferably with demonstrated success as Account Manager.
- 6 months as subject matter expert in property and casualty products and services.
- Bachelor's preferred but not required. High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to consistently meet or exceed the required Account Manager Metrics.
- Proven ability to handle ad-hoc projects and additional responsibilities.
- Consistently seeking opportunities for development and growth.
- Ability to consistently demonstrate command of the Account Manager role and responsibilities, attention to detail and accuracy, self-driven sense of urgency and accountability, support of leadership initiatives and leading by example.
- Ability to solve complex problems and adapts quickly to change
- Shows capability or capacity to make decisions within bigger picture context of Ally relationships
- Ability to be licensed in all 50 states. MI Property and Casualty producer license required. Ally will facilitate non-resident licensing in remaining 50 U.S. jurisdictions.
- Highly organized, detail oriented, and self-motivated individual who works well in a team environment
- Perform technical tasks required to support ongoing business operations
- Requires advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs, working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat, and Salesforce or equivalent CRM application.
- Strong communication and interpersonal relationship skills
